Tour of Venice

Hey. What’s up?

The hotel is close to St. Mark’s Square, with a private bathroom and all modern comforts: satellite TV, telephone, bar, radio, air conditioning, safety boxes. The room is furnished in Venetian style. The hotel offers a quiet, relaxing retreat from the hubbub of tourist Venice and an easy access to Saint Mark’s Square and the Rialto.
Qualche parola sulla città:
In a city built on water the best way, to appreciate its beauty, is on a gondola that has introduced me and Mio into the splendid palaces, churches, bridges, gardens and warehouses that line the banks of the Grand Canal. On the gondola I have been captured by the magical atmosphere of the more intimate minor canals of the city, seldom visited by tourists.
I have learned the origins and evolution of Venice and listened to the legends and anecdotes of some of the illustrious characters that have lived in Venice, like Peggy Guggenheim, Lord Byron, Robert Browning.
I have visited St. Mark’s square with the Basilica and its Byzantine heritage, the Doge’s Palace and its prison, that retain the true secrets to comprehend how a city built on swamps became one of the most enlightened cities in the western world.
I have walked in a labyrinth of narrow passageways and alleys where an enchanting city of meandering canals punctuated by delicate bridges awaits me. I have explored Campo Santa Maria Formosa with its Gothic Palaces and at the Scuola of San Marco and admired the Church of San Giovanni e Paolo “the Pantheon of Venice”.
I think that Mio and I have discovered how is to live in the most unique city in the World, but not the most practical!

Cheers.
